Physical features
Location
Lesotho is a country in Southern Africa. It is completely surrounded by South Africa. As you can see on the map, Lesotho is a very small country. It is only 30,355 kilometres square (11,720 miles square. That is about a third of the size of Tasmania. This makes it the only the 141st biggest country in the world. The coordinates of Lesotho are 29.4667 degrees south and 27.9333 degrees east. Looking at the coordinates and the map you would think: Lesotho must be quite a warm country. But you would be very wrong.

climate
Like it said in the last section, Lesotho is not a very hot humid country. In the winter it can drop to minus 21 degrees celsius. Lesotho's average all year temperature is only 15 degrees celsius. Why is it so cold, you ask? Well it is because the land in Lesotho is very high, and so the temperature a lot lower than other countries in the same region. The amount of rain in Lesotho varies greatly going as low as only 500mm per year in places such as Senqu river valley and as high as 1200mm on the east border of Lesotho. It is resonably sunny in Lesotho going from 60 percent sunshine per year to 80 percent.

conclusion
The physical features of Lesotho make it the country it is today. If the physical features were different, Lesotho might be a rich, fancy country full of resorts and hotels. Or it might be a be a giant lake. This page I think is the most important page in the whole website. I hope you enjoyed it.
